The production volumes of diary production has increased in Armenia in January-May 2019. According to data provided by the National Statistics Service (NSS), 7,957.1 tons of cheese were produced in Armenia in January-May 2019 which is 8.6% more compared to the previous year.
For the indicated period the production levels of sour cream increased by 36.5%, amounting to 2, 653.6 tones, while the volumes of curds cheese rose by 29.8%m amounting for 744.1 tones.
Meanwhile, NSS data indicate 43.5% increase of milk production levels in Armenia for the mentioned period. According to the source, 2,58.8 million liters of milk were produced in 2018, while the production levels of the first five months of the ongoing year put the number at 2 953.9 million litres. Ice cream production levels stand at 5, 352.2 thousand litres, constituting a 33.3% increase.
